Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

CarCheck (car-check.store) is operated from Stockholm, Sweden. For all privacy questions, email carcheckhelp@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google. This is handled through our authentication provider.
• Content you submit: car listing text, listing links, vehicle details you enter and the reports we generate. Please do not paste sellers’ personal details, such as names or phone numbers, into listing text.
• Payment data: Stripe processes purchases and subscriptions. We never see or store full card numbers. We store only what you bought and your subscription status.
• Usage data: anonymous visit statistics, including pages viewed, device type, country and referring site, plus a technical visitor identifier used to limit free reports and prevent abuse.
• Support: emails you send us.

3. Why we use your data

We use data to provide the service and process purchases (contract), prevent abuse of the free report and keep the service secure (legitimate interest), and keep accounting records (legal obligation).

4. Service providers

Our service providers are Supabase (accounts and database), Stripe (payments), Lovable (hosting and anonymous analytics), an AI model provider through Lovable’s AI gateway — Google Gemini receives the listing text to generate the analysis — and Google (Google sign-in and web fonts). Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA under appropriate safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. How long we keep data

Account data and saved reports are kept until you delete your account or ask us to delete them. Payment and accounting records are kept for seven years as required by Swedish bookkeeping law. Support emails are deleted when they are no longer needed.

6. No sale or advertising

We do not sell personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising. Vehicle names and scores from reports may appear anonymously in the “Recently checked” list on the home page, without any user information.

7. Cookies and storage

We use only technically necessary cookies and local storage for staying signed in, remembering your language, limiting free reports and saving a draft listing. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add advertising or tracking tools in the future, we will ask for consent first and update this policy.

8. Your GDPR rights

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or data portability by emailing carcheckhelp@gmail.com. You may also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

9. Changes

We update this page when our practices change and show the latest date at the top.
