About CarCheck
We help ordinary buyers walk into a used-car deal with the same confidence a trade buyer has.
Our story
CarCheck started with a familiar, uncomfortable evening: a promising listing, a seller in a hurry, and no honest way to tell whether the price was fair. The information existed — typical values, common faults for that engine, the questions worth asking — but it was scattered across forums, price guides and half-remembered advice, and none of it was ready at the moment the decision had to be made.
So we built the thing we wanted that evening: paste a listing, get a straight answer in under a minute, and see the reasoning behind it.
Our mission
Make used-car pricing understandable to the person paying for it. Every buyer should be able to see what a car is worth, what could go wrong with it, and what to ask before handing over the money — without needing a friend in the trade.
What we stand for
Say what we know
Estimates are labelled as estimates. If service history or accident records aren't in the listing, we say so instead of inventing them.
Show the reasoning
Every score comes with the factors behind it, so you can disagree with us and still walk away better informed.

How the car analysis works
- 1
Read the listing
Paste a link, paste the description, or type the details yourself. We pull out make, model, year, mileage, fuel, gearbox and power.
- 2
Match a reference car
The vehicle is matched against our reference catalogue of models and trims, then to a price benchmark for that model year and mileage band.
- 3
Compare the asking price
The asking price is measured against the benchmark low, median and high — so the valuation is anchored to reference data, not a guess.
- 4
Score, risks and advice
You get a deal score with its breakdown, graded risks, negotiation guidance, questions for the seller and an inspection checklist.
